Beef Roast Kerala Recipe - Beef Olathiyathu Kerala Recipe - Spicy Beef Roast Kerala style



   

               
Beef Roast  

Serves : 3

Time  Required Approx : 50 Minutes

Ingredients

Beef  –  750 grams

Onion - 2 

Tomato - 2  

Ginger – 1 big  piece

Garlic pods – 8 nos

Green chillies - 4  

Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp

Coriander powder – 1 tbsp


Red chilli powder - 1 tbsp

Pepper powder - 1 tbsp

Curry leaves -  2 Sprig


 Coconut pieces Chopped  - 150 gram

Salt - As reqd

Coconut Oil /  oil - 3 tbsp

For the Masala:-

Cinnamon(Karugapatta) pieces - 3 nos

Fennel seeds(Perinjeerakam) – ½ tsp

Cloves(Grambu) -  4 nos

Cardamom(Elakka) - 3 nos

Peppercorns(Kurumulaku) -  8 nos          


Method of Preparation

Clean the beef and cut it into small bites

Grind together the ingredients for masala and add 2 tsp of water to it to make it into a paste.

Put the meat into a pressure cooker.

Add ground masala, turmeric powder, coriander powder, chilli powder, pepper powder and salt.

 Do not add water.

Cook till meat becomes tender.

Heat oil in a pan.

Add chopped onions and curry leaves and saute till onion turns golden brown.

Add ginger-garlic paste and green chillies.

Add tomato and saute well.

Add cooked beef to this and fry.

Fry till the gravy gets dried completely.

Garnish with   coconut  pieces and coriander leaves.

 Serve with steamed  appam/ chappathi / Rice
