Fried Fish Curry Kerala Style - Poricha Meen Kulambu




Serves : 4

Approximate Time : 1 hour

Ingredients for Frying  Fish

500 gram    fish 

2      tsp chilly powder

1      tsp Fennel powder

1      tsp black pepper powder

2      tsp ginger garlic paste

2      tsp lemon juice

1      egg

2      tsp corn flour

 oil for deep frying

Salt to taste

Method  of Preparation frying fish

Broke the egg.

Then add all ingredients into the egg.

Mix it well,then make a paste.

Allow Marinate the fish to 1 hour.

Fry the fish.

Ingredients for  For Curry

Fried  fish

5 tsp grated coconut

1 cup tamarind extract

1 tsp chopped ginger

1 tsp chopped garlic

1 chopped onion

1 chopped tomato

5 dry red chillis

1 tsp Fennel seeds

1 tsp black pepper

1/4tsp rice(optional)

4 curry Sprig

4 tsp oil

Salt to taste.

Method of Preparation for Curry

 Grind the coconut well with water and make a fine paste.

 Roast the dry chilli, cumin seeds, black pepper and rice until you get the roasted smell of fennel.

 Let it cool for 10 mints then grind it and make a fine powder.

Heat the pan with oil then add ginger and garlic pieces, sauté it well.

Then add chopped onion and salt, sauté it well until they get slightly brown color.

 After that add tomato and curry leaves sauté it well.

 Then add roasted masala powder mix it well.

After 1 minute add coconut paste and tamarind extract, mix it well.

Allows to cook for 15 mints then add fried fish pieces  and again it to cook for 5 mints then turn off the flame.

Garnish Coriander / Cilantro
