Tomato Yoghurt Curry/ Thakkali Moru Curry Kerala style

Approximate time :  30 minutes

Serves : 4


Tomato (Thakkali) - 3 nos

Onion - 2

Ginger – 1/2  tsp

Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp

Chilly powder – 1/2 tsp

Water - 1/2 cup

Yoghurt – 200 ml

Coconut oil - 2 tsp

Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp

Curry leaves - 10 leave

Salt - As reqd

Method of preparation

Place tomatoes and onion in a vessel along with ginger, turmeric powder, chilly powder, salt and  with little water.

Boil it on a low flame for about 3 - 5 mins or until the tomatoes get mashed well.

Wipe the yoghurt well. Add it to the cooled tomato gravy.( wait for some time  cool the gravy)

Allow it to heat  for 2 mins on small flame. Kept aside.

Heat oil in a small pan.

Splutter mustard seeds.

Add curry leaves and saute for a while.

Pour it into the tomato Yogurt gravy and mix well.Tomato Curry is ready.

Serve with rice, appam
