Easy Achari Chicken / Murgh Achari Pakistani Recipe



Serves : 4

Time Required : 45 minutes

1 Kg Chicken,

1 cup  thick yoghurt     

¾ tsp onion seeds   

¾ tsp Fenugreek seeds  

¾ tsp Fennel seeds (saunf/)

1 tsp Coriander (dhania) powder,

1 ½  tsp red chili ) powder,

¾ tsp Salt,

1 large onion,,

fresh whole green and red chilies for garnishing

Method of Preparation

Peel and cut onion and grind them in grinder with 1/2 cup water.

Put onions in oil on high heat for getting pink color.

Coarsely grind fennel seeds only for few seconds and keep them with fenugreek and onion seeds.

When onion change color and become pinkish add chicken and stir.

Chicken will appear to have changed its color very quickly;this is because onions are browning and they will stick to the chicken but that does not mean chicken is cooked enough.

When the color of chicken becomes whitish add powdered spices,mix and cook.

Now add whole spices and stir and cook for about 30-40 sec.

Add yogurt and when it appears uniform and milky reduce heat to medium and cook covered.

Let it cook for some time so that chicken is completely cooked; check after some time and stir.

Because of yogurt the oil will be separated.

Slice green chilies, if use red and green both they will look more attractive.
