Kaya Attirachi Curry/Spicy hot Raw banana with Mutton Kerala style

Time Required: 45 minutes


Raw bananas  -   4 Nos

Lamb Leg /Mutton  -  500 gm

Coconut shredded - 1 coconut

Coriander powder  - 2 tablespoon

Pepper Powder – ½  teaspoon

Red chilly powder  - 1 1/2 tablespoon

Turmeric powder – ½ teaspoon

Sonf/ Perumjeerakam –  1 teaspoon

Garlic paste  – 2 tablespoon

Curry leaves  -   2  sprig

Salt To taste

For Garnishing

Coconut pieces – 5 to 10 small pieces

Curry leaves – 1 spirg


Preparation Method

Peel and cut the bananas into 1/2'' pieces.

Wash bananas salted water and keep aside.

Clean and cut lamb/ mutton leg into 1'' square pieces.

Mix the lamb and bananas with the chilly, coriander and turmeric and cook covered till mutton is soft.

Make a fine paste of grated coconut,Pepper and  sonf /Perum jeerakam.

Add this paste to the curry along with curry leaves,garlic paste and salt.

Simmer till lamb is fully cooked .

Garnish with roasted coconut pieces and curry leaves.

Serve hot with  Ghee rice / Rice
